In a teaser for the third part of the Season 13 Real Housewives Beverly Hills reunion, Richards, 55, admitted she was “curious” about kissing a woman before locking lips with Wade, 29, last year.
Host Andy Cohen brought up the bond between the two as he read comments from Housewives fans questioning their relationship after the steamy video made headlines, insinuating Wade used their friendship to boost her career.
“She’s a critically acclaimed musician … she cares about making music,” Richards fired back. But Cohen said, “You kind of made her a household name.”
Richards disputed that notion, insisting that Wade would be making music regardless. The reality star went on to address the much-talked about video, saying she didn’t know she would be kissing Wade in the video “until I got there.”

“I said to the director, ‘I never actually kissed anybody on camera — let alone a woman — or off camera.’ So I was very nervous and anxious, but if I’m being honest with myself, I was obviously curious in order to say yes.”

In a joint Instagram clip released alongside the video last summer, the pair revealed the idea behind the video was sparked amid a swell in public interest surrounding their friendship.
“I’ve done several music videos and every time there’s someone in it they always assume we’re dating or something’s going on. If you go on the Internet, you’ll see people are obsessed with us being friends,” Wade explained.
In the video, the two share a bubble bath and feed each other fruit.

“We thought it would kind of be a good idea to kind of poke fun at that and troll the trolls a little bit,” Wade continued. “The Internet is going to be popping off about this one I’m sure.”
“If they’re gonna talk, you might as well give them something to talk about,” Richards quipped.

The Bravo star said the two became such close friends after she heard Wade’s music and connected with her “voice and lyrics.”
“I heard Morgan on the radio. I heard Wilder Days and then I went to all the others and I was like, ‘Wow, this girl is blowing me away with her voice and lyrics.’ And I looked her up on Instagram and I was like, ‘Oh, the tattoos and everything. I wasn’t expecting all that,'” Richards said.

The video came after Richards split from her husband of 27 years — Mauricio Umansky.
At the time, a source close to the former couple told PEOPLE: “Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof. They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”
Richards has previously updated fans on her “unlikely” friendship with Wade.

“I stalked @morganwademusic on IG after listening to her music while driving solo from Utah to Colorado while making #housewivesofthenorthpole & today we met up in person for the 1st time,” Richards shared in an Instagram message in February 2022. “The most unlikely of friendships some may think but kinship knows no boundaries. 💞”
