The stars of Dawson’s Creek will be reuniting for one memorable night next month.
James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and other cast members will come together to do a “Class Reunion” live reading of the show’s pilot episode on Sept. 22 in New York City, more than two decades after the series finale.
The evening is in support of the organization F*** Cancer and for Van Der Beek, who was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in the summer of 2023. He didn’t reveal the diagnosis until November 2024.
The event will be held at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway.
The teen soap, which debuted in 1998 and was set in fictional Capeside, Mass., also starred Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Phillips.
“We grew up in Capeside and that’s a bond that will last a lifetime,” Williams said in a statement, according to US Weekly.
“We wanted to gather around our dear friend James and remind him that we are all here. We always have been and we always will be. And I know the fans of Dawson’s Creek feel the same way.”
The event will be directed by Jason Moore. Show creator Kevin Williamson will also be at the reading.

“I am so excited to reunite with James, Michelle, Katie, Joshua, and our Dawson’s Creek family for such a special night,” Williamson said in a statement.
“Dawson’s Creek changed my life. What began as a personal story about a young man and his friends navigating their way through the challenges of life became so much more than I ever dreamed.”
Van Der Beek had hinted at the reunion when he shared a cryptic Instagram post on Wednesday with a throwback snap of the characters Dawson Leery, Joey Potter, Pacey Witter, and Jen Lindley as the show’s theme song “I Don’t Want to Wait” by Paula Cole played.
“If we were truly meant to be, then we’ll find a way back to each other,” he captioned the image, quoting a line from the iconic series alongside the date and place of the reading.
Artist Andy Towle was commissioned to create an official oil on canvas poster for the event that will be auctioned off. Additional merchandise will also be sold for the fundraiser.
“As an artist who lives and works on Cape Cod, where the show is set, I was excited to take part in this collaboration and donate my time and work to such an important cause,” Towle wrote on Instagram.
“I had a lot of fun capturing a few of the show’s key set elements that evoke the nostalgia and romance of its fictional setting.”
Tickets for the show go on sale Friday.
