2 men charged, others wanted in Peel Region kidnapping, robbery probe

Cops investigating incidents in April and May where victims were allegedly lured using social media platforms

Two men from Peel Region have been charged with kidnapping and robbery while additional suspects are outstanding following a string of violent incidents.

Peel Regional Police said cops investigated three incidents between April and May where the accused allegedly used social media platforms to arrange in-person meetings under false presences. Police said the victims were allegedly “met with violence and property was stolen” upon meeting with the suspects.

Two of the victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Abhijot Singh, 20, of Brampton, was arrested Saturday and charged with robbery, fraud and two counts each of kidnapping and robbery with a firearm.

Ridhampreet Singh, 21, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with kidnapping, robbery with a firearm and fraud.
