CRIME SCENE: Baby among victims after family bear-sprayed in Hamilton

Hamilton Police said a nine-month-old baby and its family were bear-sprayed Wednesday night after a forced entry into their West Mountain home.
Cops have since charged a 15-year-old male with various offences and are searching for a second suspect after being dispatched to a residence at about 2 a.m. in the Upper Paradise-Stone Church Rds. area after receiving multiple calls about a large fight.
Police said a male allegedly arrived at the residence in a stolen vehicle and forced his way into the home before discharging bear spray, producing a knife and assaulting four family members, which resulted in minor injuries.
Cops said the family forced two intruders out of the home and held one down until police arrived. The other suspect got away.
The 15-year-old is charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, seven counts of failure to comply with a youth sentence and four counts each of failure to comply with a release order, assault with a weapon and administering a noxious substance with intent to cause bodily harm.
The second suspect is a white male wearing all-black clothing.

MISSISSAUGA MAN ACCUSED OF SEX ASSAULTS
A 30-year-old Mississauga man has been charged with sexual assault and following separate incidents in the city.
Peel Regional Police said that on May 12 at about 1:40 p.m., a woman in her 30s was walking near Churchill Meadows Blvd. and Quiet Creek Dr. when she was approached by an unknown male. Cops said the suspect made a comment toward her before allegedly touching her buttocks and fleeing on foot.
Police also said that on May 17 at about 7:10 p.m., another woman in her 30s was walking near Erin Centre Blvd. and Eaglesview Dr. when a suspect approached, allegedly made inappropriate comments, touched her buttocks and fled.
Syed Balehat Arsalan Rizvi is charged with committing an indecent act in a public space and two counts of sexual assault.

BUS STRUCK BY GUNFIRE IN STONEY CREEK
Hamilton Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Stoney Creek, where a HSR bus was struck by gunfire.
Police said they responded to a shooting at about 1:10 a.m. Wednesday near Mud St. W. and Upper Centennial Parkway. They said there was no indication the bus was targeted and believe it was just passing through the area at the time of the shooting.
There were no passengers and no injuries were reported.

WOMAN CUFFED AFTER VEHICLE SLAMS INTO TENNIS COURT
The OPP’s Bracebridge Detachment has charged a woman after a crash at a golf course in Muskoka Lakes that caused significant damage.
Cops said that on May 17 at 8:15 a.m., a vehicle left the roadway on Golf Avenue Rd. and crashed through a fence, coming to a rest on a tennis court. The vehicle and the property were damaged, while the driver fled the scene.
Amber Finnegan, 32, of Muskoka Lakes Township, is charged with dangerous operation, mischief over $5,000, failure to remain and other offences.
E-BIKE RIDER SERIOUSLY HURT IN CRASH
Toronto Police are investigating a collision between a vehicle and an e-bike rider Tuesday at about 9:55 p.m. in the Islington Ave.-Hwy. 401 area.
A 54-year-old male was driving a green Toyota RAV4 and was making a left turn from southbound Islington to the eastbound on-ramp to the 401, while a 15-year-old male was travelling northbound on Islington on an e-bike.
Cops said the two vehicles collided and the e-bike rider was rushed to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
