CRIME SCENE: Man charged after gun, over $300,000 in drugs allegedly seized

A 26-year-old Toronto man has been charged with 14 offences after cops allege a handgun and more than $300,000 worth of drugs were seized.

Toronto Police say on Sunday around 4 p.m. they investigated a male suspect believed to be in possession of a firearm and arrested him in the Jane Street and Woolner Avenue area.

It’s alleged that at the time of his arrest, the accused was in possession of a quantity of controlled substances for the purposes of trafficking and search warrants were executed on addresses and a vehicle.

Cops say a loaded handgun and a large amount of controlled substances were located and seized as a result, including 2,341.54 grams of cocaine, 369.34 grams of Fentanyl, 23.66 grams of crack cocaine, 78 Xanax pills and 24 Oxycontin pills, with a total street value about $312,162.

Walter Martins has been charged with four firearm-related offences, six drug possession for the purpose of trafficking offences, two counts each of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

TWO MEN CHARGED

Durham police have charged two men with numerous offences following a domestic incident in the area of Simcoe Street North and King Street East in Oshawa on Friday around 11:20 a.m.

Cops say there were two unwanted males staying at the residence and that one had a firearm but both fled before police arrived.

Police say during a search of the residence, they found a loaded 9mm handgun and more than 140 grams of fentanyl and 25 grams of crack cocaine. The two male suspects were arrested a short distance away without incident.

Emmanuel Wiehler, 24, of no fixed address, is charged with two firearm and two drug-related offences plus eight counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Anfernee Farrell-Luke, 27, of Toronto, faces two firearm and two drug-related charges and failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with an undertaking.

SUNGLASSES THEFT

Hamilton Police have charged three youths after $1,500 worth of high-end sunglasses were stolen from a local shop.

Cops say on Monday around 4:00 p.m. they were called to a shop in Limeridge Mall after store owners allege two male youths stole three pairs of high-end sunglasses.

Police say the youths fled on foot but not before the store owner got a detailed description of them and the pair, along with a third male, was quickly located and arrested.

Authorities say during a search of their belongings, officers discovered two bottles of bear spray in addition to the stolen sunglasses.

The three youths were charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and possession of a prohibited device

OPP SEEK HOME INVASION SUSPECTS

The Caledon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is seeking four male suspects following a home invasion in Bolton.
Cops say on Monday shortly before 5 a.m., they responded to a home invasion at a residence on Old King Road in Bolton, where four people were home at the time.
Police say four male suspects entered the residence and a firearm was shown but after a confrontation with one of the occupants, the suspects fled on foot. Minor injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
Cops have released images from surveillance footage to help identify the suspects.
