Around 11:30 p.m., Durham Regional Police responded to the lot at 100 Westney Rd. S. and found an unconscious male suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he has since succumbed to his injuries.

Little was previously accused of assaulting two fishermen while he was living out of a tent last year.

About 16 months ago, he faced allegations of assaulting two men while they were fishing in Duffins Creek — near Church St. S. and Hwy. 401 — in Pickering in the early hours of March 3, 2024.

“A male residing in a tent nearby approached the victims while brandishing a knife and making threats,” Durham cops alleged in a news release at the time, claiming the knife-wielding man “pushed one of the males into the creek.”
