Suspects sought after botched armed robbery of Vaughan jewelry store

At least four suspects are wanted after an attempted armed robbery of a jewelry store in Vaughan on Monday night.

York Regional Police were called at 9:15 p.m. for a report of an attempted robbery at a store in the Zenway Blvd.-Hwy. 427 area.

Police said the victim was exiting the store after closing when he saw four bandits running towards him. Cops said the victim was able to get into his vehicle and lock the doors before one thug reached him.

The robber allegedly smashed the window of the vehicle with a hammer and at least one member of the group brandished a firearm.

The victim was able to flee and contact police.

All four suspects are described as male, 15 to 20 years old, wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered.
