Teen charged in home invasion, cops hunt three more suspects

A 17-year-old boy faces charges after home invaders targeted a Richmond Hill home twice, stealing luxury vehicles in both cases, according to York Regional Police.

Officers are hunting three other suspects as they investigate the home invasions. The first happened  at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday in the Orlon Cr.-Claridge Dr.  area — about 1.2 kilometres northeast of Yonge St. and Hwy. 7.

Three bandits — at least one armed with a knife — smashed the glass front door and barged into the home, while another thug waited outside, said police.

The thieves stole items from the home, including the victim’s Mercedes G-Wagon, which was later found in Mississauga’s Britannia Rd. and Whitehorn Rd. area — about two kilometres south of Hwy. 401.

A 17-year-old male from Markham was arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon, and other offences. He cannot be identified under the Criminal Youth Justice Act.

On Monday at 6:45 a.m., the home invaders returned to the same address, according to police, who reported they took car keys and stole a Mercedes AMG GT63S from the driveway.

Police recovered this vehicle and the investigation continues.

The first suspect is a black male, 18-26, with a slim build. He wore a grey FILA hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

The other two suspects are light skinned males, 18-25, with slim builds. They wore hooded sweatshirts, black pants and one was armed with a knife and the other had a hammer.
