“A large number of people were seen dispersing from area as officers arrived on scene,” Const. Emily Mitchell said in a statement released Saturday.

At the time, she said officers were “unable to locate any injured parties.”

“A short time later, a 16-year-old male attended a local-area hospital suffering from stab wounds,” Mitchell said. “It was confirmed that the victim was injured during the fight call.”

The boy was subsequently transported to a Toronto trauma centre where Mitchell said he “remains in stable but critical condition.”
