Boyfriend, 38, charged after victim, 21, found stabbed in Oshawa

One person is recovering in hospital and a 38-year-old man is facing charges following a Saturday morning stabbing in Oshawa.
Durham Regional Police said officers from Central East Division responded at approximately 11:40 a.m. to a stabbing call in the area of Oxford St. and Wentworth St. W.
According to police, officers found a 21-year-old individual suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where they remain in stable condition.
Cops determined that the victim’s boyfriend was allegedly responsible for their injuries, but he fled the scene before officers arrived.
After an extensive search, police said the man was located and taken into custody without incident.
The man, from Oshawa, has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
Police said they are not releasing the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.
