CRIME SCENE: Brampton church leader accused of sexually assaulting 13-year-old

A 32-year-old Brampton church “youth leader and worship director” is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old.
In a statement issued Friday, Peel Regional Police allege the accused met with the teen on various occasions between May 1 and Aug. 15 and the young person was sexually assaulted.
On Friday, police arrested Adam Watson, of Brampton, charging him with sexual assault and sexual interference.
Police said Watson had been working at a church in Brampton for about three years.
The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are concerned about the possibility of other alleged victims, so they have released a photo of the accused.

TORONTO MAN WANTED FOR SEX ASSAULT
Police identified a 24-year-old Toronto man wanted for an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a York residence.
Toronto Police say officers responded to a call just after 11 a.m. Thursday for a sexual assault in the Roselawn and Marlee Ave. area, north of Eglinton Ave. W.
Police allege the accused invited the victim to his residence and, once inside, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The victim then left the residence.
Maxim Shraibman is wanted for sexual assault, sexual assault/choking and failing to attend court.
He is described as 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds with a thin build, long brown hair, brown beard and brown eyes.

He was last seen driving an older black BMW 328i sedan with Ontario licence plate CLBS 976.

BOWMANVILLE MAN, 69, ACCUSED OF THREATENING FEMALE AND COPS
A 69-year-old Bowmanville is accused of threatening a female and then police officers while brandishing a knife.
Durham Regional Police say officers, including members of the Tactical Support Unit, responded to a death threat call in the area of Bowmanville and Hartwell Aves. around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police allege that a man harassed and made death threats toward a female.
“Police arrived on scene and located the suspect, who immediately brandished a knife and began making threats towards officers,” police alleged in a news release issued Friday. “Officers successfully de-escalated the situation and took the suspect into custody without incident.”
Miguel Palacios-Ferman, of Bowmanville, is charged with two counts each of uttering death threats and assault with a weapon, as well as possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and criminal harassment.

CLARINGTON MAN FACES CHILD PORN CHARGES
A 30-year-old man faces a multitude of child porn charges following an investigation in Oshawa.
In a news release issued on Friday, Durham Regional Police said members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) executed a search warrant on July 31 at the residence of a man believed to be making and sharing child pornography.
Police allege the man was using the Telegram app with user names ‘C Ja’ and ‘Nomey6969.’
He was arrested and charged with failing to comply with the Sex Offender Information Registration Act and Christopher’s Law (sex offender registry).
Several electronic devices were seized from the home.
Police claim analysis of the accused’s electronic devices revealed a “multitude of child pornographic content, including plans to travel and commit sexual acts on underage persons.”
On Friday, members of the ICE unit, with help from the Offender Management Unit, located the suspect and took him into custody without incident to face additional charges.
Christopher Jackson, of Clarington, is charged with possession of child pornography, make child pornography, import/distribute/possess child pornography for the purpose of distribution, agree to commit a sexual offence against a person under 16, access child pornography, five counts of breach order form sexual offence conviction, and eight counts of fail to comply with probation order.
Police are concerned about the possibility of other alleged victims and as such have released a photo of the accused.

HALTON COPS ARREST TWO, SEIZE GUNS AND DRUGS
Two 31-year-old men face nearly 30 charges following a drug trafficking investigation in Halton Region.
Halton Regional Police say the Drug and Organized Crime Unit began an investigation this summer into an individual suspected of trafficking illicit drugs in Halton and throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
On Wednesday, police say two individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement.
As part of the investigation, police searched a vehicle and residence in Mississauga and allegedly seized a loaded Glock 9mm prohibited compact handgun, a Bersa 9mm handgun loaded with hollow point rounds, a kilogram of cocaine, an ounce of crystal methamphetamine, 112 oxycodone pills and other associated items such as scales, packaging and bundled currency.
Michael Akuffo, of Mississauga, and Tre Wynter, of Brampton, have been charged with two counts each of possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and careless storage of a firearm.
They are also accused of knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm and four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
In addition, Akuffo faces a cocaine trafficking charge.

WOMAN, MAN FACE FIREARM CHARGES IN OAKVILLE
A woman and man face firearm charges after police were called to a home in Oakville.
Halton Regional Police say officers responded to a house on Belvedere Dr. at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday after receiving a report of firearms seen within the residence.
Police say a woman was arrested at the beginning of the investigation and a search warrant resulted in the arrest of a man within the residence.
Police allege two rifles and an electric stun gun were found by cops along with five paint and pellet guns that were manufactured to resemble automatic rifles, handguns and a shotgun.
Traci Simioni, 42, of Oakville, and Hernan Cuello Mazzillo, 49, of no fixed address, are charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon.

CLARINGTON MAN ACCUSED OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING
A 29-year-old Clarington man has been arrested and charged for human trafficking.
Members of the Durham Regional Police and Peterborough Police human trafficking units executed a search warrant on a residence and two vehicles on Wednesday.
Durham cops allege numerous items relating to the offences were seized and the accused was taken into custody without incident.
Pavithiran Chandrakumar is charged with material benefit from sexual services, obtaining sexual services for consideration and two counts of exercising control.
Police said they are concerned about the possibility of other alleged victims and have released a photo of the accused.

WOMAN SHOT IN BRAMPTON, SUSPECTS SOUGHT
Police are seeking two suspects after a woman was shot at a Brampton home Friday afternoon.
Peel Regional Police said on social media that they received a call at approximately 5:30 p.m. for a shooting near Mountainash Rd. and Judson Gate, east of Countryside Dr. and Torbram Rd.
According to police, the woman’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The incident appears to be isolated to a residence, cops added.
Police say at least two suspects fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction.
