CRIME SCENE: Five males sought for violent Pickering home invasion

The hunt is on for a group of bandits after shots were fired during a violent home invasion in Pickering on Thursday.

Durham Regional Police say officers responded to the area of Foxwood Tr. and Bayfield St. – near Whites Rd. and Sheppard Ave. – around 11:15 p.m. after it was reported five masked bandits, three of whom were armed with handguns, entered the home and forced the occupants from the patio to the inside of the home at gunpoint while they searched the residence.

Two gunshots were fired inside the residence when the victims confronted the home invaders, police said, explaining one victim suffered minor injuries after being grazed by a bullet and was taken to a local hospital.

The home invaders, described only as five Black males, fled the area in a dark-coloured sedan and no other injuries were reported.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident at this time.

MAN, 18, ACCUSED OF KILLING TEENAGE BOY IN BRAMPTON

An 18-year-old man wanted for the deadly shooting of a teenage boy in Brampton last month has been arrested.

Peel Regional Police said on Friday that the suspect, Damian Walker, was taken into custody but released no further details.

The shooting occurred in the Beech St.-Church St. E. area, near downtown Brampton, on April 23, 2025 – on the same night Peel cops were investigating a “suspicious death” at a building in the 20 block of Beech St., although details about the incident have been scarce.

Police would only say the victim was a male under the age of 18 and it appeared to be an isolated incident.

MAN CHARGED AFTER DRUGS, CASH SEIZED IN NORTH YORK

A 26-year-old man faces charges after cops allegedly seized drugs and more than $143,000 in cash from a home and vehicle in North York.

Toronto Police say officers were made aware earlier this month of a man allegedly trafficking illegal drugs in the city.

On May 14, police executed search warrants on a residence and vehicle in the Jane St.-Finch Ave. W. area.

Police allegedly found more than $143,000 in Canadian currency, about 18.73 grams of fentanyl, 76.32 grams of crack cocaine and 42.06 grams of cocaine.

Shamar Campbell, of Toronto, is charged with three counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime exceeding $5,000.

MAN, 26, CHARGED WITH TTC SEX ASSAULTS

A 26-year-old man is accused of two sex assaults on TTC buses earlier this month.

Toronto Police say officers responded first to a sexual assault call in the Yonge St.-Eglinton Ave. E. area on May 1.

The victim was on board a bus at about 5 p.m. when a man stood beside her and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

In the second incident, police said the victim was on a bus when she was also allegedly sexually assaulted by a man who stood beside her around 8 a.m. on May 15.

Investigators subsequently identified a suspect who was arrested on Thursday.

Ankit Mukherjee, of Toronto, is charged with two counts of sexual assault.

MAN SOUGHT FOR MISSISSAUGA SEX ASSAULTS

Police are looking for a suspect following a pair of separate sex assaults in Mississauga earlier this month.

Peel Regional Police said the first incident happened May 12 at around 1:40 p.m. Cops said a woman in her 30s was walking near Churchill Meadows Blvd. and Quiet Creek Dr. when she was approach by an unknown male who made a comment toward her before touching her buttocks and fleeing the area on foot.

On May 17 at around 7:10 p.m., police said a second woman in her 30s was walking near Erin Centre Blvd. and Eaglesview Dr. when an unknown male approached, made inappropriate comments, touched her buttocks and fled the scene.

Police said it’s believed that the same suspect is responsible for both incidents.

The suspect is described as a South Asian man between 25 and 35 years old, about 5-foo-8 to 6-feet tall, with a thin build, short black hair, a long beard, prescription-style glasses, and wearing dark clothing.

MOTORIST ACCUSED OF CARELESS DRIVING AFTER TWO-VEHICLE CRASH IN ANCASTER

One driver was charged after two pickup trucks collided Friday morning on Hwy. 403 in Ancaster, Ont.

The OPP Highway Safety Division says the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 403, near Hwy. 6, just before 6 a.m.
