CRIME SCENE: Man, 42, accused of fentanyl trafficking in Hamilton

A 42-year-old man faces more than a dozen charges after he was allegedly caught with drugs in Hamilton on Thursday.
Hamilton Police say officers arrested a man on York Blvd. and, upon searching him, allegedly seized 13.5 grams of white cubed fentanyl, a working digital scale, a knife that opens with centrifugal force, a black baton, an amount of money consistent with drug trafficking, and a black imitation firearm.
The Hamilton man, whose name was not released, is charged with possession of a substance (fentanyl), possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), proceeds of crime under $5000, possession of a prohibited weapon, four counts of failure to comply with a probation order and six counts of possession contrary to a court order.
BLOW TORCH HOLDUP IN WHITBY
A 28-year-old man is accused of using a blow torch as a weapon during an attempted robbery in Whitby this week.
Durham Regional Police say officers responded to a robbery in the area of Dundas St. W. and Annes St. just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
The victim was walking when they were approached by a man who was allegedly holding a lit blow torch and demanded their personal property, police said in a statement released Friday.
Police said the victim was able to fight back and escape without being physical hurt.
A suspect was taken into custody without incident a short distance away.
London Bossio, of Whitby, is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.

OWEN SOUND MAN WANTED BY PEEL COPS
Police say they are asking for the public’s help in locating an Owen Sound man wanted in an ongoing intimate partner violence investigation in Peel Region.
Peel Regional Police said Keenan Simpragra, 26, is accused of several offences including two counts of uttering a threat to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failing to comply with a release order.
Investigators said they believe Simpragra has access to firearms and should be considered armed and dangerous. If seen, police are asking the public to dial 911 and not approach him.
Authorities are also concerned for his well-being, cops added.
Simpragra is 6-foot-1 and about 220 pounds. He has short brown hair, brown eyes, a long brown chin strap-style beard and mustache, and a tattoo of a ‘K’ on his right middle finger. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

MAN, 20, WANTED FOR REMOVING ANKLE MONITOR
A 20-year-old Toronto man is wanted by police for removing his ankle monitoring device.
Toronto Police said the accused was charged with several robbery and firearm-related offences on Oct. 12, 2022. Three days later, the accused was released from custody with conditions to wear a GPS monitoring device on his ankle.
It is alleged that cops received information on Dec. 23, 2024, that the accused removed his ankle monitor.
Dominic Petrovich is wanted for failing to comply with a release order and mischief under $5,000. He is 5-foot-9 with a thin build.
