CRIME SCENE: Separate suspects sought for alleged sexual assaults

Toronto Police are looking to identify separate suspects after two women were allegedly sexually assaulted hours apart Wednesday in the downtown core.
In the first investigation, police say officers were called at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday for an alleged sexual assault in the area of Bay and Adelaide Sts. earlier in the day.
According to police, a woman was walking in the area at about 2:30 p.m. when an unknown man approached her from behind.
Cops allege the man sexually assaulted the woman and fled northbound on Bay St.
Investigators describe the suspect as between 5-foot-9 to 6-feet, 20 to 30 years of age with short dark hair and facial hair.
He was last seen wearing a black winter parka with a fur-lined hood, a black hoodie, grey shirt, black pants with brownish-coloured stains or patterns on one leg, and black shoes.

In the second case, police say officers were called to the area of Bay St. and Lakeshore Blvd. at 8 a.m. Thursday for an alleged sexual assault.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. the night before, cops say a female was walking alone and an unknown man approached her from behind.
According to police, the man sexually assaulted the woman and then followed her and tried to have a conversation. He eventually fled the area.
Investigators describe the suspect as between 30 and 35 years old, 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 with a medium build, shoulder length black curly hair, and a black beard.
At the time, the suspect was wearing a beige and white baseball cap, black short sleeve T-shirt, black Adidas track pants with white stripes along the sides, light-coloured sneakers, and had an olive green and black backpack on.

DOWNTOWN SHOOTING SENDS VICTIM TO HOSPITAL
A man in his 20s suffered gunshot wounds in downtown Toronto early Saturday morning.
Toronto Police said on social media that the man was shot around 3 a.m. in the area of Bathurst and College Sts.
The victim was taken to hospital by an emergency run.
In a later update, police said the man has non-life threatening injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
MAN STABBED IN NORTH YORK
A man took himself to a hospital after being stabbed Friday evening in North York, police say.
Toronto Police say the stabbing possibly happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the area of Keele St. and Gulliver Rd., south of Lawrence Ave. W.
The man was later transported to a trauma centre.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
SHOOTING LEAVES VICTIM WITH SERIOUS INJURIES
Peel Regional Police say a man has serious injuries after being shot Saturday afternoon in Brampton.
Police say officers were called to Inder Heights Dr. and Mayfield Rd. after an adult male was shot.
The suspect or suspects fled the area, cops added.
The investigation is ongoing.
COPS INVESTIGATING CARJACKING IN HALTON HILLS
Police in Halton are investigating a carjacking in Halton Hills on Wednesday.
Halton Regional Police said a man was driving his Lexus SUV south on 8th Line, north of Steeles Ave., at 5:45 p.m. when he was cut off by a vehicle that was behind him.
According to police, a man got out of the suspect vehicle, threatened the victim and then stole the SUV, heading north on 8th Line towards 5 Side Rd.
The victim wasn’t hurt and no weapons were used, cops said.
Investigators described the male suspect as approximately 20 years old and was wearing a face covering.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black Honda Civic sedan.
Investigators say they are looking for security or dash cam video from the area between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

HAMILTON MAN ARRESTED FOR BREAK AND ENTER
A Hamilton man has been arrested for a break and enter at a Stoney Creek home Wednesday afternoon.
Hamilton Police say officers were called shortly after 2 p.m. after a homeowner was woken up by a suspect who forced his way into the home through a side door.
When the suspect was confronted they fled, cops said.
While searching for the suspect, police received a 911 call about a man matching the suspect’s description.
According to police, the suspect had approached a woman at her home asking for help. This made the woman uncomfortable and the suspect became verbally aggressive before fleeing.
Officers located and arrested the suspect nearby and recovered stolen property.
Louis Roy, 51, has been charged with break and enter commit, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of fail to comply probation.
“The Hamilton Police Service reminds residents to secure their homes and report any suspicious activity,” police said in a news release.
