Cops say a beige SUV was travelling westbound on Welland Ave., ahead of a black pickup truck, when both vehicles were stopped for a red light at the intersection at Niagara St.

Police allege that while stopped, the black pickup truck accelerated into the rear of the beige SUV and propelled it through the intersection, narrowly missing other vehicles, and further down Welland Ave.

The two-door black pickup truck, described as a Black Ford F150, then fled the scene without stopping.

There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.

Police are urging the driver of the black pickup truck to come forward.

Anyone who can assist with identifying the driver of the black pickup truck is asked to contact the investigating officer by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009503.
