Hamilton pair charged after rifles, drugs seized from home, vehicles

A man and a woman from Hamilton were busted by police Wednesday in a drug trafficking investigation that allegedly netted two rifles, opioid pills and cash.
The man is also accused of breaching probation and breaking other judicial orders.
Hamilton Police said a search warrant was executed by officers at a residence on Tragina Ave. N. as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
Police claim members from two High Enforcement Action Team units conducted a search of the home and uncovered large quantities of illicit drugs and cash.

Investigators subsequently searched two vehicles they believe were used in the trafficking operation and allegely located additional drug evidence.
A U-Haul storage locker linked to the investigation yielded approximately $10,000 in cash and two long guns, cops alleged.
Drugs seized allegedly included 935 grams of cocaine valued at $76,000, 460 grams of methamphetamine valued at $27,000, 7 grams of fentanyl valued at $7,000, 939 hydromorphone (Dilaudid) pills valued at $14,000, and 441 oxycodone pills valued at $2,200.
Cops also seized a Black Creek 5.56 rifle, a Vector .22 caliber rifle, ammunition and empty magazines, and an estimated $60,000 to $70,000 in cash.

Edwin Croft, 34, and Destiny Vanderlip, 22, face multiple joint charges including possession of cocaine, meth, fentanyl, hydromorphone and oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, and proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Additional charges for Croft include multiple firearms offences, probation breaches, and possession contrary to an order.
