A 66-year-old man faces charges after hundreds of bottles of stolen booze were recovered in Cabbagetown.
Toronto Police say an investigation was launched earlier this month into an individual believed to be in possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking in the area of Parliament St. and Wellesley St. E.
“It is alleged that the suspect was purchasing stolen merchandise at an address,” Const. Stephanie Miceli said in a statement Wednesday.
She said the investigation led officers to identify the suspect and his location, where a search warrant was subsequently executed.
“It is further alleged that as a result of the search warrant, officers recovered approximately 500 bottles of stolen alcohol, with an estimated value of $27,000,” Miceli said.
Investigators have released images that show rows of allegedly stolen bottles of liquor lined up on tables in what appears to be a commercial office space.

Vickneswararajah Mailvaganam was arrested on Sunday.
The Toronto resident is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking over $5,000.
