Toronto Police say officers located the victim when they responded to a report of “an injured person” in the area of St. Clair Ave. W. and Lansdowne Ave. around 2:50 a.m.
“Police arrived on scene and located a male with obvious signs of trauma,” Homicide Det.-Sgt. Brandon Price told reporters at the scene on Saturday. The male was transported to a local trauma centre on an emergency run and life-saving measures were taken.”
“He was ultimately pronounced deceased at hospital. It appears that the male had been stabbed,” he added.
“We are currently speaking with several witnesses to figure out exactly what took place,” Price said.

“A protracted altercation like this, there’s not only, necessarily, one injured party,” the investigator added. “So, we know that there’s numerous people involved, so there could be other injured parties.”
A section of St. Clair Ave. W., between Earlscourt Ave. and Lansdowne Ave., was cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape Saturday morning.
This stabbed man would be the city’s 84th murder victim so far this year – 43 of those victims were gunned down, 22 were fatally stabbed and 18 are listed in the “other” category.
The city endured 69 homicides in all of 2023 – 27 were shootings, 23 were stabbings and 19 were listed in the “other” category.
