An 18-year-old man and two teenage boys face charges after a “high-risk takedown” tied to a violent carjacking in Etobicoke earlier this week.
Toronto Police say officers responded to an unknown trouble call near Finch Ave. W. and Martin Grove. Rd. around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victim had parked and exited their vehicle when three culprits travelling in a Toyota RAV4 stopped nearby and allegedly produced a handgun and a hammer while demanding the keys, police said Friday.
Cops said two carjackers drove away in the victim’s vehicle with the RAV4 in tandem.
Numerous police resources responded to assist Toronto’s Hold Up Squad, including officers from 33 Division Primary Response Units, Major Crime Units, the K9 Unit, Emergency Task Force and the York Regional Police Air Support Unit (A2).
The stolen vehicle was located in the area of Sheppard Ave. E. and Don Mills Rd.
Officers conducted a high-risk takedown and took three suspects into custody following a brief struggle and short foot pursuit.
Police allegedly recovered a hammer and a replica handgun.
An 18-year-old from Toronto faces charges of robbery with a firearm, robbery with an offensive weapon, wearing a disguise with intent, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
A 16-year-old from Brampton is charged with robbery with a firearm, robbery with an offensive weapon, wearing a disguise with intent, and assault with intent to resist arrest.
A 17-year-old from Toronto is charged with robbery with a firearm, robbery with an offensive weapon, wearing a disguise with intent, assault with intent to resist arrest, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
Police did not release the name of the accused man and the two boys can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WHITBY BOY, TORONTO MAN ACCUSED OF AUTO THEFT
A 13-year-old boy is among two people accused of stealing a vehicle in Pickering, crashing it and fleeing the scene.
Durham Regional Police say officers responded to a crash in the are of Kingston and Whites Rds. at 1:25 a.m. on Tuesday.
Cops said a Black Ford Fusion was travelling at a high rate of speed when it lost control and left the road.
Two males were seeing fleeing the vehicle on foot.
Further investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen.
Two suspects were located and taken into custody without incident.
D’Onte Richards, 21, of Toronto, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, breach of probation, and fail to remain.
A 13-year-old Whitby boy, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failure to comply with a release order, and fail to remain.

TORONTO MAN ACCUSED OF SUSPECTED HATE CRIME
A 39-year-old man is accused of making hate-motivated threats last month in the city’s York neighbourhood.
Toronto Police say they received a report of a suspected hate crime in the area of Eglinton Ave. W. and Gabian Way.
The assailant approached the victim with a garbage bag around 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 15 and hit the victim in the face with it before threatening to kill the victim and making “anti-East Asian slurs,” police alleged Friday.
Jagraj Gill, of Toronto, was arrested Thursday and charged with uttering threats – death, and assault with a weapon.

MAN WANTED FOR STEALING VAN, TORCHING IT
An unidentified man is sought after a van was stolen and set ablaze at a gas station in North York earlier this month.
Toronto Police say officers responded to a theft of a motor vehicle and arson call around 3:40 p.m. on March 6.
Police said the complainant parked their van in a commercial parking lot and the van was stolen.
Cops said the thief drove the stolen van to a gas station and parked at the gas pumps before setting fire to the vehicle’s interior and fleeing the area.
The complainant and the thief were not known to each other.
Investigators have identified a suspect and they released an image of the unidentified man on Friday.
He’s described as 40-50 years old with light-coloured facial hair and a dark-coloured mark on the corner of their left eye. The man was wearing a light-coloured toque, sunglasses, a black puffy vest, a long-sleeved blue jacket, dark pants, and black and white running shoes.

AJAX MAN, 20, ARRESTED FOR HAMILTON HOME INVASION
A 20-year-old Ajax man is in police custody following an overnight home invasion in Hamilton.
Hamilton Police said suspects attended a residence on Airport Rd. shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday and forcibly entered the home.
The homeowner contacted police and sustained minor injuries during an altercation with the suspects, cops said. The assailants then fled the property.
Police said officers flooded the area and found a man nearby who was later identified as one of the suspects.
Andre White is charged with robbery and break and enter commit.
Investigators with the K-9 and forensic units searched the area and located a firearm.
Police are asking for drivers in the area at the time of the incident to check their dash cameras as well as homeowners to review any camera footage that they may have during that time.

MAN, 21, SOUGHT FOR EAST YORK SEX ASSAULTS
A 21-year-old man without a fixed address is sought after being accused of repeated sexual assaults in East York.
Toronto Police responded on Wednesday at 11:35 p.m. for an assault call in the Donlands Ave.-O’Connor Dr. area.
Police said between March 8 and Wednesday, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim “on several occasions” and also assaulted the victim and held the victim against their will.
The suspect has been identified by police as Balin Scott and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is wanted for three counts of sexual assault, assault, forcible confinement, theft under $5,000, and two counts of fail to comply with probation order.

WOMAN KILLED IN SCUGOG CRASH
A 29-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash in Scugog, north of Oshawa, on Thursday afternoon.
Durham Regional Police say officers responded to a crash involving two vehicles on Lake Ridge Rd. near Scugog Line 14 at 1 p.m.
Cops said a Hyundai Venue was travelling south on Lake Ridge Rd. when it crossed the centre line and struck a northbound Hyundai Elantra.
A 29-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Elantra, was taken to Uxbridge Cottage Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
