Man wanted for harassment, sexual assault in North York

Investigators need the public’s help identifying a male suspect wanted for criminal harassment and sexual assault in North York on Wednesday.

Toronto Police say a man approached a woman in the area of Keele St. and Finch Ave. W. around 4:15 p.m. but she ran away and boarded a TTC bus.

When the same woman arrived at the Pioneer Village subway station, police said she saw the same man and he continued to harass her until she notified a TTC employee, prompting the man to flee.

Later that day, around 4:45 p.m., the same man allegedly approached another woman at a bus stop near Jane St. and Finch Ave. W., and sexually assaulted her.

The woman then boarded the bus with her friend and the man followed, police claim.

The man was allegedly shouting at the woman before exiting the bus at the Jane and Finch Mall.

Investigators have released images of a suspect hoping someone can help identify him.

The man is described as being in his 30s, about 5-foot-6, and was wearing a T-shirt, navy pants, baseball cap, black backpack, and green, white and yellow Air Jordan shoes.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call police at 416-808-3100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
