Peel Regional Police have charged a 26-year-old Mississauga man with multiple human trafficking and prostitution-related offences after an alleged victim approached authorities in June.
And the accused, police noted in a news release on Friday, was out on bail at the time for possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle in Peel Region.
Cops allege the accused recruited a woman and took control of aspects of her life while exploiting her in the sex trade and benefitting from it financially.
Roshawn Morgan-Rose was charged on Dec. 2 with eight offences including fail to comply with release order. His other new charges are human trafficking, exercise control, receiving benefit resulting from trafficking in persons, procuring, derive material Benefit from sexual services, advertisement, and sexual assault.
