Toronto Police say Drug Squad officers launched an investigation in September — dubbed Project Malibu — into narcotics and firearms trafficking in a neighbourhood southwest of Don Mills Rd. and Eglinton Ave. W.
“It is alleged that a group of individuals were actively involved in the sale of cocaine and fentanyl in the Thorncliffe Park area,” Insp. Tyrone Hilton, of the Organized Crime Enforcement Unit, said in a recent statement.
He said the same group was also allegedly involved in the trafficking of firearms in the area.
As a result of the investigation, cops seized four firearms and ammunition.
“A quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine was also seized with an estimated value of more than $1.26 million,” Hilton said.
