From the sidewalk outside 145 Jameson Ave., located on the southeast corner of King St. W., one could only notice the blood on the balcony railing and its barrier in two areas.
Police were called to the building at midnight on Monday after reports that shots were fired. They said they located a male inside an apartment unit who had been shot. He died at the scene.

Homicide investigators said the victim was a man in his late teens to early 20s, but he had not been identified. There was no immediate word on suspects in what was Toronto’s 46th homicide of the year.
Toronto Police homicide officers could be seen canvassing the building and other ones in the vicinity on Monday morning looking for surveillance video, whilst forensic officers dusted the front entrance of the building and took images.

A woman named Laura, who said she was the tenant of the unit, said she returned to her apartment earlier Monday morning and “didn’t know any of this had happened.
“Well, this is crazy. I mean, I try to help everybody. This is all I try to do is help everybody,” said Laura.
When asked if people were partying inside her apartment on Sunday night before the shooting, she said, “I don’t think so.”
After speaking with the media, she walked northbound on Jameson, but then stopped outside of a convenience store and spoke for about a minute or more.
She told the Sun she used to live in Georgia and has been living at the apartment for the last four years since moving to Canada.

She said all she wanted to do was get back into her apartment to get her wallet and a change of clothes, but she wasn’t allowed to since it was a crime scene.
She was visibly upset before mumbling, “I let young kids come in. I have to help them out, you know?”
Then she walked west on King and said she was going to try to meet some friends at a park “to chill out.”
A young man who said he was a representative for the property management company, but wouldn’t give his name, said building staff had a vacant unit that Laura could use temporarily.
He would not get into the details of what happened.
It was the second homicide in as many days related to gun violence.
On Saturday evening, Toronto Police responded to a call of shots fired at a gas station on Warden Ave. in Scarborough, just south of Hwy. 401, where a person was found dead inside a car at 10:18 p.m.
Police identified Sulakshan Selvsasingam, 28, of Pickering, as the victim.
Police were searching for suspects who fired several shots and then fled the area.
Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers.
