According to police, officers were called just after 11 p.m. for a stabbing at a home on Whitley Castle Cres., in the Finch Ave. E. and McCowan Rd. area.

Police allege that when cops arrived at the scene, they found a man with injuries inside a residence.

Life-saving measures were performed, but the man died of his injuries at the scene, police said.

The victim’s son was arrested at the scene, cops added.

Investigators identified the victim as 66-year-old Kulathungam Mathisoody.

A neighbour told the Toronto Sun on Thursday that the victim had recently started a job as an Uber driver, adding the family once ran a Sri Lankan video store in Scarborough that rented and sold movies.
