SUV thefts lead to three arrests, dog seized at Brampton auto repair shop

An investigation into stolen SUVs led to the arrests of three men and seizure of a dog at an auto repair shop in Brampton last week.

Peel Regional Police say officers responded to two separate incidents in Mississauga where a grey 2025 Honda CRV and a white 2025 Honda CRV were stolen last Sunday and Monday.

Officers allegedly located one of the vehicles on Wednesday at an auto repair facility in the area of Hale Rd. and Bramsteele Rd. – near Rutherford Rd. S. and Steeles Ave. E. – where they arrested three suspects for auto-related offences.

“On the same day, investigators executed a search warrant for the premise resulting in the seizure of evidence and recovery of additional vehicles valued at $100,000,” police alleged in a news release.

“Evidence of tampering with vehicle identification numbers and re-vinning was located,” police claimed, adding investigators also allegedly recovered registration documents, stolen license plates and key fobs.

A dog “in need of protection” was also seized and placed in the care of Brampton Animal Services.

“Based on the investigation, the auto body repair facility has allegedly been involved in staged collisions resulting in information sharing with automobile insurance companies,” police said.

Shan Nouri, 20, of Mississauga, Syed Ahmed Shah, 23, of Toronto, and Enias Marunza, 21, of Mississauga, were arrested.

The accused are charged with four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, as well as one count each of possession of break-In instruments, possession of an automobile master key, tampering with a vehicle identification number, and selling or possessing counterfeit marks.
