Police say around the same time, they also attended the area of Venetian Terrace and Brisdale Dr. — near Chinguacousy Rd. and Wanless Dr. — and found a third tow truck on fire. With the help of firefighters, the blaze was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Police consider the fires to be suspicious, but have not confirmed they are linked.

A tow truck turf war involving fires and shootings led to Toronto Police launching Project Dodger in January.

The initiative is aimed at addressing the rise in criminality and violence linked to the tow-truck industry.

In 2024, 63 shootings were linked to tow truck-related disputes.
