Two victims were wounded in separate incidents as gunshots rang out in Downsview and Scarborough on Wednesday afternoon.

Toronto Police say officers responded to the first incident, initially reported as a two-vehicle collision with one person injured, near Stanley Greene and Downsview Park Blvds. – a residential neighbourhood in Downsview Park, northeast of Keele St. and Wilson Ave. – just after 1 p.m.

Responding officers arrived at the scene to find two vehicles with massive front-end damage and a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The shooting victim was taken to hospital for treatment but his injury was not considered life-threatening, police said in a post on X.

Police were looking for a third vehicle that is believed to have fled the scene.

Later in the day, around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to another shooting at the opposite end of the city near Warden Ave. and Lawrence Ave. E.

“Officers located a male victim who had been shot,” police said on X, adding the extent of the victim’s injuries was “unknown.”

Police were looking for three suspects who fled the scene and were last spotted heading north on Warden Ave.

No further details were immediately available.

Investigations into both shootings were ongoing.

Meanwhile, more blood was spilled in in a residential neighbourhood in the city’s west end around 4 p.m. – but that incident was a stabbing not a shooting.

Officers responded to the area of Russett Ave. and Bloor St. W., just west of Dufferin St., where they “located a male victim who had been stabbed,” police said on X.

The victim’s injuries were serious enough that paramedics rushed him to hospital via an emergency run.

No further details were immediately available and the stabbing remained under investigation.
