The visit comes just weeks after King Charles made his whirlwind two-day visit to the nation’s capital to open Parliament and deliver the throne speech.
“Canada and the United Kingdom have shared history and enduring ties,” read a statement from the PMO.
“Prime Minister Starmer’s visit will strengthen the long-standing economic and security partnership between the two nations – and deliver growth and prosperity for our peoples.”
Starmer will meet with Canadian Prime Minister — and former Bank of England governor — Mark Carney, and their conversations will “carry forward into the 2025 G7 Leaders’ Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta,” the PMO said.

Starmer will be in Ottawa until Sunday, when he and Carney will travel to the G7 Summit in Kananaskis Country, Alta., west of Calgary.
The announcement comes one day after Carney reportedly offered an invitation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia to attend the summit — the latest in a number of high profile, and sometimes controversial, invitations extended, which so far also include Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Indian PM Narendra Modi.
Other high-profile non-G7 attendees are Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and Australian PM Anthony Albanese.
