Protester glued wrist to court during Clippers-Timberwolves game

An animal rights protester got herself in a sticky situation during Tuesday night’s NBA game featuring the L.A. Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The woman tried to glue herself to the floor of Minneapolis’ Target Center during the second quarter, TNT sideline reporter Allie LaForce said on the broadcast.

“I was just told by security that she apparently had glued herself to the floor and she refused to lift her wrist up,” LaForce said.

“They were trying to pull her off and she was resisting, trying to keep her wrist glued to the floor.”

The incident, which happened under the Clippers’ basket, happened when the Wolves were shooting free throws on the other side of the court.

With less than three-and-a-half minutes left, the game had to be delayed.

The woman was reportedly protesting the treatment of the chickens at Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor’s farm, according to ESPN’s Sarah Spain.

The woman’s shirt read, ‘Glen Taylor Roasts Animals Alive.’

According to a press release from animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere (DxE), Taylor is being accused of the inhumane killing of 5.3 million chickens following an outbreak of bird flu in the owner’s egg factory in Iowa.

DxE identified the gluey protester as activist Alicia Santurio.

Her protest caused a minor delay in the game before she was escorted off the court by security after the glue she used wasn’t strong enough to keep her stuck to the floor.
