British tabloids are speculating that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be hiding out in Canada during the U.S. Thanksgiving.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on a break from their official duties but that hasn’t stopped their social media output.

On Thursday, the couple wished their 9.9 million Instagram followers a “very happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours”.

The couple signed off their missive: “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex”.

Beneath was a maple leaf emoji.

The Daily Mail mused that while it could simply be a nod to the autumn season, it could also mean they’re in Canada.

Harry and Meghan have a deep affection for our home and native land and she filmed Suits here for years. Both have many friends in the city.

It is also baby Archie’s first Thanksgiving.

Another option could be Los Angeles where Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland lives.

Other reports suggest that the royal couple is actually still in the U.K.

“From what I know, they aren’t coming here [to Los Angeles]. Doria is going there for the holiday [Thanksgiving],” a royal insider told the Mail last month, adding Meghan planned to volunteer at a homeless shelter.

And OK! Magazine added that no matter where the couple celebrates the American holiday, Meghan will be doing the cooking.

“Meghan loves being in the kitchen,” royal correspondent Katie Nichol told the magazine. “She’s a talented chef and takes great pleasure in bringing people together over a family meal.

“There won’t be any staff helping her — she’ll definitely be wearing the apron.”
