'THEY ARE DISTANT': Fallout between Prince Harry and King Charles deepens

Prince Harry’s relationship with King Charles continues to be strained.
The Duke of Sussex has been trying to mend fences with his father since he and wife Meghan stepped down from their royal duties five years ago while also trying to fully regain his family’s U.K. security through legal means after settling down in California.
However, it appears the wounds from that split are not close to being healed.
“I don’t think there is any rapprochement,” a Kensington Palace source told People. “Nothing has changed.”
“They are distant,” another source added.
Prince Harry’s fight to reinstate the state-funded official security for his wife and two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, “has always mattered the most,” he told the magazine after exiting London’s Royal Courts of Justice last week.
The security downgrade is something Prince Harry believes is an attempt to control his family, which he admitted “was difficult to swallow.”
But his father may be keeping quiet as to not interfere with the security issue as it winds its way through the British courts.
“(The legal battle) puts Harry in direct contact with the people who are carrying out the King’s orders,” royal author Sally Bedell Smith told People. “If his father was to say something even seemingly innocuous, it could end up landing in the middle of the court case.”
Despite the court battle, Prince Harry continues to receive no response from his efforts to reestablish the relationship with his father through calls and letters, a source said.
In fact, the Duke of Sussex learned of King Charles’ hospitalization in late March only after reading reports in the media while also remaining out of the loop about his father’s current health.
And during Prince Harry’s last three visits to the U.K., King Charles was unavailable due to prior commitments even though his son’s court date was scheduled well in advance.
