Everest Drain and Plumbing has been working behind the scenes since 2013, solving everything from simple leaks to collapsed clay pipes in older homes. But while the company has built a solid reputation among homeowners and developers, many still don’t realize the scale – and depth – of what they actually do.
Founded by Khem Bohora, Everest started small, with a handful of plumbers focused on residential service. Working on modest homes and basic repairs, “we started off working with good middle-class homeowners, mostly fixing leaks and dealing with overflows from things like clogged drain pipes or faulty toilets,” says Everest technician Niraj Bohora. “We weren’t thinking of working in commercial or high-rise environments.”

That changed quickly. As Everest gained momentum, so did the demand. By 2015, the company had shifted gears and was steadily growing its commercial and multi-residential portfolio. Developers began to take notice. Awards from local organizations followed. And clients, once used to juggling multiple contractors for plumbing, drain, and excavation, started appreciating Everest’s all-in-one approach.

“We realized there was this gap in the market,” Bohora explains. “A drain gets clogged, someone clears it, but then you find out the real issue is outside the house, maybe clay pipes that have collapsed.

“Most companies stop there,” he continues, adding proudly that Everest keeps going. “We can dig, diagnose, replace the pipe, handle it from start to finish. That’s the value.”

It’s more than convenience. For homeowners, Everest offers peace of mind in a field that often leaves people guessing. Their pricing model is transparent and upfront. No surprises, no sticker shock. “In most of our service calls, for example; toilet replacements, drain unclogging, drain cleaning or RO water filtration system install, we provide an upfront estimate as per our client’s needs, or the assessment we did beforehand,” says Bohora.

Everest backs their work with warranties, and makes sure clients understand every step. “If we’re unclogging a kitchen drain, we explain why it happened, how to avoid it, like not pouring grease or food down the sink. It’s not just fixing the issue. It’s making sure they don’t have to call us again for the same thing.”

That educational mindset extends to urgent service too. The company offers 24/7 emergency plumbing across the GTA. But even in a rush, the approach stays the same. “We never make promises we can’t keep,” says Bohora. “First, we listen. Then we explain how long it could take, what might come up. If we fix it faster than expected, they’re thrilled. If it takes as long as we said, at least they’re prepared.”

The time it takes from starting the excavation to getting the water main online can be 8-16 hours, but depends on case-by-case basis as there are many factors that may complicate things. Our crew can be on site within 4-5 hours for water main break emergencies and we can replace ¾-inch to 12-inch water main, and 3-inch to 12-inch sewage lateral and vertical.

That consistency has earned Everest the trust of clients in high-pressure industries. In cases where clients may expect long delays and backups, Everest has the ability to provide same-day service – in some cases, even excavation – and can have systems back up within 48 hours. When that happens, Bohora says, “that’s when it hits you, how vital plumbing really is to someone’s life or business. We have helped many customers during emergencies in the middle of the night, where there were water leaks, or risk of flooding, but the customers did not know where their main shutoff valve were located, and we have also guided them to turning it off.”

For Everest and its team, plumbing goes beyond pipes – it’s infrastructure. “People take plumbing for granted until it fails,” observes Bohora. “But the moment it stops working, you can’t run a home, or a factory, or anything else. It’s waste management and water distribution. It’s dignity.”

Everest’s services span residential, commercial, industrial, and multi-use developments. Their roster includes everything from faucet and shower cartridge repairs to trenchless technology, hydronic heating, sump pump installation, high velocity drain cleaning, and video inspections, water softener and complete reverse osmosis water filtration systems. With full-service plumbing, drain, installation, and emergency crews, they’ve positioned themselves as a go-to solution for clients who don’t have time to manage three different vendors.

Their team also handles more specialized work, such as main drain and water main line replacements, backwater valve installation, radiator heating, backflow prevention testing, installation and replacement and mechanical plumbing for professional offices and industrial facilities. From frozen pipe repairs to grease trap installations, Everest has continued to expand its offerings to meet the needs of the city’s evolving infrastructure.

“It’s about making things easier for people,” Bohora adds. “When one company can handle everything, it saves them time, money, and stress.”

Looking ahead, Everest is exploring new technologies to stay ahead of the curve. Their use of trenchless solutions, remote inspections, and efficient remote diagnostic tools reflects an industry that’s rapidly modernizing. But at the core, Bohora says, the mission stays the same: to be dependable.

“A lot of the time, it looks like it’s just about solving a plumbing issue. But for us, it’s about being the company people know they can rely on. In emergencies, in big projects, or in everyday upkeep. That’s what we care about.”
