NHL ROUNDUP: Minute-munching D-man Vladislav Gavrikov signs with Rangers

Vladislav Gavrikov, one of the prized defencemen in the 2025 unrestricted free-agent class, has signed with the New York Rangers.

A top-four rearguard for the Los Angeles Kings this past year, averaging just more than 23 minutes per game, Gavrikov had five goals and 25 assists and was a plus-26.

The six-year, left-shooting veteran, who stands 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, heads east after inking a seven-year, $49-million, with a $7-million AAV.

Gavrikov replaces restricted free agent K’Andre Miller on the Rangers blueline, the latter subsequently traded to the Carolina Hurricanes.

♦ Veteran centre Mikael Granlund, coming off a 66-point season with the San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars, has signed for three years with the Anaheim Ducks at a $7-million AAV.

♦ Centre Christian Dvorak signed with the Philadelphia Flyers for one year and $5.4 million. The 29-year-old played a full 82-game schedule for the Montreal Canadiens in 2024-25, producing 12 goals and 33 points with a minus-5 rating.

♦ The Stanley Cup-champion Florida Panthers, who surprised many by re-signing their three top unrestricted UFAs — Sam Bennett, Brad Marchand and Aaron Ekblad — before the opening of free agency, have also brought back fourth-line winger Tomas Nosek, but could not find room for defenceman Nate Schmidt, who signed for three years with the Utah Mammoth at a $3.5-million AAV.

♦ Feisty winger Tanner Jeannot signed for five years and $17 million ($3.4 million AAV) with the Boston Bruins. He posted 7-6-13 offensive totals in 67 games for the Kings, piling up 89 penalty minutes.

♦ Forward William Eklund, 22, signed a three-year $16.8-million extension with the San Joe Sharks. He went 17-41-58 this past season, all career-highs.

♦ D-man Martin Fehervary of the Washington Capitals signed an extension for six years and $42 million. The 25-year-old was 5-20-25 this past season but missed the playoffs after tearing the meniscus in his right knee on April 22.

♦ The Montreal Canadiens traded defenceman Logan Mailloux to the St. Louis Blues for forward Zack Bolduc on Tuesday. Mailloux, a 22-year-old right-shot blueliner, had two goals and two assists in seven games with the Habs. Bolduc had 19 goals and 17 assists in 72 games with the Blues last season.

♦ Goalie Jake Allen re-signed with the New Jersey Devils for five years and $9 million — a $1.8 average annual value. The 34-year-old, who served mostly as a backup to Jakob Markstrom last season.

♦ The Calgary Flames have extended defenceman Joel Hanley ’s contract by two years. The deal announced Tuesday by the Flames carries an average annual value of $1.75 million.

♦ Defenceman Ryan Lindgren, 27, is joining the Seattle Kraken on a four-year, $18-million deal. The left-shot blue-liner was 4-18-22 with the Rangers and Avalanche.

♦ Wingers Corey Perry and Connor Brown are leaving the Edmonton Oilers. Brown, 31, signed for four years and $12 million ($3 million AAV) with the New Jersey Devils after producing 13-17-30 totals playing all 82 games in Edmonton. Perry, 40, who had 10 goals and 14 points in 22 playoff games for the Oilers and played in his sixth career Stanley Cup final, is off to the Kings on a one-year deal worth, with bonuses, $3.5 million.D-man John Klingberg also signed for one year and $4 million with the Sharks.

♦ The Avalanche re-signed depth forward Parker Kelly to a four-year $6.8-million extension after scoring 19 points in 80 games this past year.

♦ The Flames will be looking for a new backup goalie after Dan Vladar signed with the Philadelphia Flyers for two years at a $3.35-million AAV.

♦ Winger Brandon Tanev has signed with Utah for three years and $2.5 million per season after finish last season with the Winnipeg Jets.

♦ Veteran centre Nick Bjugstad will be playing for his fifth team in as many years after signing with the Blues for two years and $3.5 million.

♦ Along with Perry, the Kings also added veteran defenceman Cody Ceci (four years, $4.5 million AAV) and Brian Dumoulin (three years, $4 million), along with big forward Joel Armia (two years, $2.5 million).

♦ Rearguard Nick Perbix is joining the Predators after signing for two

♦ The Hurricanes signed forward Logan Stankoven to an eight-year, $48-million extension that kicks in for the 2026-27 season.
