Man, 66, hit by van crossing Scarborough street
The pedestrian was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries

A 66-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was hit by a van while crossing a street in Scarborough on Friday afternoon.
Toronto police say officers responded to the collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Lawrence Ave. E. and Bellamy Rd. N. shortly after 2 p.m.
A 61-year-old man driving a red van made a left turn from westbound Lawrence to southbound Bellamy and struck the senior citizen, Const. Sinderela Chung said in a statement released Saturday.
She said the driver remained at the scene following the collision.
“The pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries,” Chung said.
No further details have been released.
“The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services,” Chung said.
Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of the area, or incident, to contact investigators.
